Measurement System Analysis (MSA) –
The measurement system used must be adequate for its intended purpose to produce accurate and consistent results that can distinguish the process outputs and variation.
In other words:
How much of the measured process variation is due to the measurement system vs the process itself?
Measurement system evaluation:
- Accuracy
- Bias
- Linearity (Part size effects on the measurement system bias over the expected part range)
- Stability
- Precision
- Repeatability
- Reproducibility
